Opportunity: seeking 2-3 interns for part time, paid administrative, research, technology, and communications projects.  Individuals who are well organized, pro-active, and detail orientated with experience managing multiple tasks welcome.  Currently all operations are virtual, so interns should have access to computer and internet.  There may be some in-person meetings, so interns must be able to get to a central Chicago location as required.

Key responsibilities:
● Take on and complete a variety of requests from the Center and multiple nonprofit
member organizations including:
○ administrative such as organizing lists and data entry
○ communications such as e-newsletter and social media write-ups, grant
request/report editing/writing
○ research projects such as updates on current events in international locations,
funding opportunities, virtual event platforms.
● Manage and track time on project by project basis, including regular reporting to Center
management to update on tasks in progress.
● Schedule/plan virtual events for members.
● Problem solve as needed.

Qualifications:
● Current college student preferred with flexibility to commit to approximately 8-10 hours
per week, with set availability during standard business hours for assignments and
meetings
● Strong organizational skills and independent work ethic
● Curiosity about global issues and community impact
● Communications skills – ability to engage through speaking and writing, including asking
clarifying questions about assignments
● Familiarity with technology platforms including Google Drive
● Strategic social media marketing experience a plus
● Adherence to Core Values of the Simmons Center for Global Chicago (stated below)
● Ability to commit to position starting September 2021 through December 2021, or
possibly May/June 2022 (potential for semester-long or academic year-long
assignments)

Compensation: Interns will be compensated $15/hour for actual hours worked.
